AUTHORS
Got a talent for writing sexy stories women can lose themselves in? We’re looking for erotic stories for these sections of the magazine:

True Confessions
Do you have a real-life sex story you want to share with the world anonymously? Seduced a lover in extremely public place? Had a night of naughtiness with someone you shouldn’t have? Experienced multiple orgasms at an orgy? Tell us in a 650 word-long confessional, written in the first person.

Male Shot
Are you a man with a filthy fantasy or real-life experience? Come clean in 850 words and if your story does it for us we’ll print it (anonymously, of course).

General fiction
Got a juicy erotic story to tell? Sordid, sexy or sweet, we’re looking for stories either 500 or 1,500 words long to get our readers going. The target audience is women with an open mind, and stories can be vanilla (straight up male and female lovin’), kinky (think bondage and fetish), girl-on-girl, man-on-man, anal, foreplay-only, or even something completely different like robot-sex, so let your creative juices flow.

NB: We don’t publish erotic poetry or flash fiction.

If in doubt about what kind of stories we feature, read the latest issue or check out examples here.

Submissions
Submissions should be sent to inbox@HarlotMagazine.co.uk in Microsoft Word document format only or, if you don’t have Word, then in the body of your email. Submissions in any other format will not be read.

At the top of your Word document type and complete the following:

Story title: [If it’s for Male Shot or True Confessions sections, type that here]
Story theme: [eg, vanilla, lesbian, BDSM, etc]
If fetish, specify which:
Word count:
Your name:
Your pen name (if applicable):
Your email:
Your telephone number:

Then insert your story. Copy should be laid out:

• in Arial 12pt
• with single line spacing
• with only one space after a full stop
• with par breaks indicated by lines between paragraphs, not indents.
• with no underlining or caps
• using double quotes for speech and single quotes for speech-within-speech
• with NOTHING in the header or footer

At the end of the story type [ends].

Your document’s filename should follow this format:
STORY TITLE_AUTHOR_THEME
For example, SHOPPINGBUDDIES_CAMEOBROWN_LESBIAN

Please do not submit your story more than once, ie under different themes. If the story covers multiple themes, state them all at the top of your document.

We receive so many submissions for Cliterature that it may take us a while to let you know if your story is going to be published, so we advise pitching stories elsewhere if you want. Please let us know if your story is successful with another publication though. We do not print stories already published.

Already an established author?
We love an erotic exclusive, so if you fancy writing a naughty tale just for us, email us your pitch. Alternatively, why not pick your favourite extract from one of your published books for our hot extract section Juicy Bits. Simply send:
• the extract (between 400 and 500 words) • a brief synopsis of the book
• an explanation of why it’s your favourite extract
• publisher and price details for the book
• a high resolution picture of the book cover
Style
• Your writing should be arousing, not just sensual. Women should be able to masturbate to your story. If you’re having problems, try writing about what you’re into sexually. If it’s turning you on, it’ll probably turn other people on too!

• Use original language when describing sex. Avoid the clichés and find new ways to talk about what sex feels like. Explosions, pistons, the earth moving – these metaphors are so old they no longer have meaning. What does it feel like to you?

• Writing is sexy when the reader understands why the characters are so turned on. So, are they passionately in love? Are they trying something new? Or indulging in a kink that really works for them? The reader will only feel the excitement if you explain why the act’s so sexy. Eg, if you’re writing about a woman who loves latex, the majority of readers won’t have latex fetishes, but describe the slipperiness of the fabric, the feeling of heat and restraint she gets from being trapped inside it and you’ll press readers’ buttons

Characters
• Good characters equal good stories. Two randoms inserting tab A into slot B is a lot less interesting than two real people having sex for particular reasons and finding that they’re different afterwards

Plotline
• Stories should have satisfying endings. You could achieve this through a clever payoff line, the resolution of a personal dilemma or through a twist. Please avoid the clichés though! The top three are: it was her husband/partner all along; she was being watched the whole time; whoops! Turns out she’s a lesbian!

Last but not least…
• Check your story’s spelling and grammar. If your piece is littered with glaring errors it will be binned
